Testing

EICR & PAT Testing in London

Landlord certificates, periodic inspections and portable appliance testing, with same day reports available.

About this service

An Electrical Installation Condition Report, or EICR, is a thorough inspection of the wiring, protection and earthing in a property. Landlords in England must have one at least every five years, and it is also recommended when you buy a home or if your installation has not been checked for a long time.

Powerline Group carries out EICRs and PAT testing for landlords, agents, homeowners and businesses across London. All inspections are carried out by NICEIC approved electricians, and same day reports are available.

What is included

  • Inspection and testing of every circuit
  • Checks on the consumer unit, earthing and bonding
  • A clear report with any issues graded by urgency
  • Portable appliance testing (PAT) with labels and records
  • Advice on any remedial work needed
  • Same day reports available

What happens if something fails?

If the report finds issues, we explain each one in plain English and quote for the remedial work. Once the work is complete we provide the paperwork to show the installation is satisfactory.

What is the difference between an EICR and an installation certificate?

An EICR reports on the condition of an existing installation. An Electrical Installation Certificate is issued for new work, such as a new circuit or consumer unit.

How often do I need one?

For rented homes in England, at least every five years, or sooner if the last report says so. For owner occupied homes, every ten years is recommended.

Do you test appliances in offices?
